Notifications and Replies

Getting emailed, and replying from inside Requests

Setting up notification recipients, and how a reply actually reaches the person who submitted.

Setting up notifications

  1. Go to Communication -> Email Settings.
  2. Add one or more New Request Notification Recipients.
  3. Set a Sender Name (what recipients see the email is from) and, if you want, a Reply-To address.

If the recipient list is empty while notifications are meant to be on, the Email Settings page shows a clear warning so this gap does not go unnoticed.

Replying to a submission

Open the submission in Requests and click Reply. Write a rich-text email and send it directly to the person who submitted -- a copy stays attached to that submission is thread, so the full conversation is always visible in one place later.

If someone replies to your email

Their reply lands wherever your Reply-To address points, or your optional dedicated mailbox if you have one set up -- either way, it is a normal email conversation from there, not something that flows back into Requests automatically.
