Volunteer Hours: Logging, Buyouts, and Reminders
How a member tracks their own hours, and what happens if they fall short
Self-logging hours, the buyout option, and the automatic renewal reminder.
Self-logging
A member logs their own volunteer hours from their account -- date, number of hours, and a short description. Their progress toward the yearly requirement shows right there, so they can see exactly where they stand at any time.
Buyouts
If you allow it, a member short on hours can pay a buyout amount instead of completing them, satisfying the requirement for that year. This is entirely optional to offer.
Renewal reminders
As a member is yearly deadline approaches, Your Shop Space can send an automatic reminder email if they are behind on hours -- giving them a chance to catch up or arrange a buyout before the deadline passes, rather than finding out after the fact.
