Welcome to Your Shop Space
A quick tour before you build anything
Three things to know first
Everything in your admin sorts into three ideas. Once these click, the rest of the admin stops feeling like a maze.
- Pages are what visitors actually see -- your homepage, an About page, a Contact page. You build them out of stackable sections rather than writing code.
- Apps are the tools your business actually runs on -- Calendar, Staff, Forms, Memberships, and more. Each one can be turned on or off depending on what your business needs.
- Design controls how it all looks -- your colors, fonts, and overall feel. Change it once and it applies everywhere.
The admin sidebar, left to right
The left sidebar is grouped into five sections. Here is what lives in each one:
- Configuration -- Features (turn apps on/off), Legal & Policies, Marketing & Tracking, Payment Settings, SEO & Sitemap, Site Information, Site Plan, Users.
- Style & Design -- Design & Appearance, Footer Builder, Website Menu.
- Communication -- Forms, Requests, Email Settings, Newsletter, Announcement.
- Content -- Pages, Media Library, and whichever content apps you have turned on (Blog, FAQs, Services, Photo Gallery, Document Library, Testimonials, Learning Center, Release Notes).
- Scheduling & Bookings -- Calendar, Appointments, Memberships, Business Hours, Volunteers.
Click any section header in the sidebar to expand it. Items inside each section are alphabetical, so if you know a tool is name, you can scan straight to it.
Finding anything fast
At the top of every admin page is a search box. Press / anywhere in the admin to jump to it, type a few letters of what you are looking for -- a tool name, or a word from what it does -- and press Enter on the result you want. This is usually faster than hunting through the sidebar.
Where to start
In order, most owners do this:
- Pick a look under Style & Design -> Design & Appearance.
- Build your homepage and a couple of key pages under Content -> Pages.
- Turn on whichever Apps your business actually uses under Configuration -> Features -- if you do not take bookings, leave Calendar off.
- Go live -- see the last article in this section.
You do not have to do this alone, and you do not have to do it all before opening. A site with two solid pages and one working tool beats an empty one you are still perfecting.
