How the Calendar Fits Together
Classes, times, and bookings -- three ideas, one page
The mental model behind the Calendar app: a class or event, when it happens, and who is coming.
One class, one page
Go to Scheduling & Bookings -> Calendar. Everything about one class or event -- its name, price, description, AND every day/time it actually happens -- lives on one editor page. You do not have to think of a class and its schedule as two separate things to manage; you edit them together in one place.
- A single class like Beginner Yoga only needs one entry, even if it happens every week.
- A class can have more than one weekly time -- Tuesdays at 7:30am and a separate Thursday evening time both live under the same class, as two entries in its When It Happens list.
- Everything you publish appears automatically on one public calendar page at /calendar/ -- you never create or embed that page yourself.
The four buttons on the Calendar hub
- + Add Class or Event -- start a brand new one.
- Upcoming Classes -- a report of what is coming up, with attendee rosters.
- Check-In -- a printable, at-the-door attendance tool.
- Each class in the list has its own Add Times (if it has none yet) or Edit button, and an Add Member shortcut to book someone directly.
