Setting Up Your First Product
Name, price, stock, and a photo
Turn on Store first
- Go to Configuration -> Features and turn on Store (a paid-plan app).
- Connect your Stripe account under Configuration -> Payment Settings if you have not already -- Store checkout uses the same connection as Memberships and Appointments.
- Go to Store -> Products and click + Add Product.
The fields that matter
- Product Name and Price are the only two truly required fields.
- SKU is your own optional reference code -- Your Shop Space never generates or requires one.
- Photo comes from the same Media Library used everywhere else on your site.
- Description is a full rich-text editor, same as a Page section.
Track Inventory and stock
Turn on Track Inventory and set an In Stock count, and the product automatically shows "Sold Out" and stops selling once that count reaches zero -- no manual removal needed. Leave Track Inventory off for something you can always fulfill (a gift card, a digital item, a made-to-order piece) and the stock count is ignored entirely.
An optional Email Me When Stock Drops To threshold sends you an alert the moment a sale brings a product down to that number or below, so you can reorder before you actually run out.
Featured and Status
Check Featured to have a product show first in your shop and make it available to a Featured Products section anywhere else on your site. A product stays a Draft -- invisible to customers -- until you set its Status to Published, so you can prepare a whole catalog before anything goes live.
